These terms are an agreement between you and Logan Hagerty, the individual developer who operates Goat Locker ("the app", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. Who the app is for
Goat Locker is for current and former United States Navy Chief Petty Officers (E-7 through E-9) who are at least 18 years old. By creating an account you confirm that this describes you and that the information on your profile is true. Accounts that misrepresent who they are will be removed.
2. Not an official Navy product
Goat Locker is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by the U.S. Navy, the Department of the Navy or any part of the U.S. Government. NAVADMINs, ALNAVs and uniform regulations shown or linked in the app come from public government websites and are provided for convenience only. Always rely on the official source.
3. Your account
You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password private. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has used your account.
4. Membership and billing
- Access requires a Goat Locker Membership, an auto-renewing subscription of $3.99 per month (or the local equivalent shown in the app).
- New members may be offered a 7-day free trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription begins and your Apple account is charged.
- The subscription renews every month until you cancel. Payment is charged to your Apple account, and Apple handles all billing and refunds.
- To cancel, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not refund the current period.
5. Conduct
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. You agree not to:
- harass, threaten, demean or impersonate anyone;
- post content that is unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable;
- post classified, controlled unclassified, or operationally sensitive information, including ship movements and deployment schedules;
- send spam or unsolicited commercial messages;
- collect other members' information for use outside the app;
- attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours.
Members can report or block any other member, and report any Mess, post or comment, from inside the app. We review reports within 24 hours and will remove content and suspend or remove accounts that break these terms, at our sole discretion and without refund.
6. Messes and swag
Mess pages, posts, polls and swag listings are created by members, not by us. A Mess on Goat Locker is not an official command channel; nothing posted in one is an official communication of any command or of the Navy. The member who runs a Mess decides who joins it and can remove posts and members, and must follow these terms and any rules that apply to their Mess or command.
Goat Locker does not sell, ship or guarantee any item and does not process payments for swag. Any purchase is strictly between you and the Mess or member offering the item. If you run a Mess, you are responsible for the accuracy of its listings and for fulfilling orders.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. You give us permission to store it and show it to other members as needed to run the app. You are responsible for having the right to post it.
8. Ending your membership
You may delete your account at any time from the Me tab in the app; remember to cancel your subscription with Apple separately. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms.
9. No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not verify every member's identity and cannot guarantee that every account or listing is genuine. Use your own judgment before sharing information or sending money.
10. Limit of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for dealings between members, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the membership in the three months before the claim arose.
11. Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. Your use of the app must also comply with the App Store's terms of service.
12. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; if the change is significant we will note it in the app, and continuing to use the app means you accept the updated terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which the operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
